Pros: As it names says “Web Cloner” this tool literally clones a website and saves a copy to your hard drive. This includes text, images and any other media. The local copy (clone) of the website can also be saved to a CD as well as exported into e-books: as stand-alone E-book (as an executable file) or CHM. Saved content can be password protected for security and privacy. Sharing of the websites is possible through WebCloner or by email.

Cons: The interface is its biggest negative point. At the outset it looks like similar to a Project Explorer in Visual C++ or Eclipse. This is a turn-off and it gets worse as you try to figure out all the functions that are available. Why is so much clutter necessary for relatively simple tasks. Presumably this will empower the user to do more useful tasks but since it is not intuitive it does not follow that the user will pick up how do more complicated things easily (or even the simple ones). It is good for those wanting to learn the internal aspects of website creation because it shows you so much of the details, but not too many users are interested in that stuff. The browsing window is also not the best, and because of the fact that archiving is done to a single file it is not possible to use a standard browser to browse the offline web pages – as it is with many other offline browser tools.

Overall: 3 stars. The cloning function works well and stores to a single file, but the interface is hard to use so it may take long to utilize the “full features”.
