Webmizzle is a simple tool for monitoring Worldwide weather information.
Pros: Accesses freely available weather-related information from all over the web and makes them available through its interface (“free from having to navigate through websites and ads” as the publisher describes). It gives access to current weather information: satellite images, temperatures, wind, humidity, pressure and so on. There is the option of viewing conditions through the last 6, 12 or 24 hours at any given time – this is automatically presented without hassle in the programs own player in which you can pause, fast-forward and rewind through the weather events.
Cons: The interface perhaps for the sake of simplicity is severely limited. It is hard to figure out how to get a certain thing done (or if those things are even possible). In effect, at first the program brings up a Qwikcast.com webpage with weather information (which has ads in it) so in a sense it is only offering a new take on a website such as Weather.com. Plus, because of its small sized window it becomes difficult to look at all the available information.
Overall: 3 stars: a good idea but lacks in the user experience perspective.
