A plug-in for the eMule file sharing program to improve its overall download performance.
Features: EMule Turbo Accelerator is a plug-in to improve the performance of the eMule peer to peer file-sharing program. On slow connections it significantly improves the speed of downloading and reduces the time of downloading. Moreover, on flaky connections that frequently drop or disconnect, the download performance is significantly improved because eMule Turbo Accelerator manages those downloads automatically (i.e. starting / stopping as required). The same thing happens on computer restart when you do not need to explicitly restart the eMule file sharing program, the Turbo Accelerator will automatically resume incomplete downloads because the configuration at shut down (or when program is closed) is saved automatically and reloaded on computer startup. It also searches multiple sources constantly even when files are being downloaded and search performance is improved whenever new peers are found to have the same files. Competed files and corrupted or bad files are automatically cleared so that user has less things to worry about in terms of file management when downloading. It has a very small memory footprint (the program sits in the system tray) that ensures that in it of itself when running it will not affect system performance at all.
Overall: This is a fairly good tool. The main limitation is that it features a fairly typical interface with pretty standard buttons. There is very limited user ability to modify settings. During periods when the user is idle (for example when he / she is just reading or viewing a web page but not actually transferring any data over the connection) it ought to have done better in terms of utilizing the extra available bandwidth. If it did it would have performed better. Perhaps the fact that it aims to maintain near constant average download speeds over long periods works negatively in these case. And so there is only a marginal performance improvement is seen on fast connections.
