Our company originally thought this software would be great and although it has great potential it is full of bugs and limitations. Not even all of the standard VB controls work properly. Please make sure you explore their support forum first to see all of the other request people have posted that have never been resolved. You can make some really pretty interfaces but be prepared for additional technical support from your users as we have found it does not run reliable when pushed out to multiple different configurations. Using it in VB6.0 you have to ignore skinning half of the controls because it does not work properly with labels or command buttons with images. There are also problems with 3rd party controls and even on our various test machines we were running into cases where the dialog was not refreshed properly. It also has week documentations and worst of all the support sucks. I was very active on their forum and helped many users and they pulled my usage because I often complained about lack of support. And I am a paying customer! When they released version 2.0 the ActiveX is was not binary compatible meaning that if you install the version 2.0 on a users machine and they have software from another vendor which used the 1.9 version the other software would not function. The same holds true if someone installs the 1.9 version over your 2.0 version. This is a huge potential problem and I notified them within a week of it being released. Over 2.5 months passed and several posts and other users complaining about it and still no fix. Now I am a programmer with a successful commercial application so I know my stuff and this is an hour fix and recompile at the most. All they need to do is rename the dll to Skincrafter2.dll and rename the ActiveX class also. Why the refuse to fix it and put all of their users at risk I will never understand. Anyways after a few hundred hours of tweaking and little support from Skincrafter we are pulling it from our product because it is just not reliable and their support is by far the worst I have ever had from a developer product.
