.NET Licensing Pro version 6.0 is a .NET solution for licensing applications and controls. This works for applications and controls that are written in languages that work in the .NET framework. Such languages as C#, VB.NET etc. This can also be used for copy protection of the .Net applications and controls designed for Windows Mobile (Windows CE) and created using .NET Compact Framework 2.0 and 3.5. Versions of this licensing tool are available for the .NET Framework 2.0, 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0. The licensing is based on couple of different schemes. These are the licensing by sending out a licensing file with the product. The second schema is about using a secure encrypted license key. The way you generate the firs kind of licensing is quite flexible and you are able to choose a scheme that suits you best. Generating the license file is based on 17 different validators, along with an unlimited number of custom fields. Custom license fields enable you to lock/unlock parts of your product. You could also use it to get extra validators from the end user. The validation parameters could be company and user name, version of product, IP address, number of processors and so on. Use of .NET controls are very effective through this schema. It also could be used for applications as well.

Additional protection is by way of digitally signing the license file and then encrypting it. That make the license nearly impossible to tamper with. The second schema is more suitable for applications while it can be used for controls also. An asymmetric encryption is used for generating a licensing key. The two schemes can be used in combination to create an "activation key" approach. The tool will manage all the related activities of managing customer list, license, sending email to customer and so on. This takes care of a crucial issue and you do not need to re-invent the wheel or spend time developing a licensing system!
