This software provides a database independent interface for access to databases from Delphi.
dbExpress is a database-independent layer. It defines a common interface that can provide quick access to Oracle from Delphi and C++ Builder. This can be done from either of Windows and Mac OS X for both 32-bit and 64-bit platforms. For this server, this software provides a driver as an independent library. It implements the common dbExpress interface for processing queries and stored procedures. This layer is designed to be thin and simple. This layer is able to provide high performance connectivity to databases. dbExpress driver for Oracle is meant for direct access to Oracle database server. It will be possible to connect to Oracle through the native Oracle data access or directly access to Oracle without Oracle Client. Database applications built on this layer do not need installation of other data provider layers such as BDE or ODBC. You can also work via TCP/IP with the Oracle server. There will not be any need for going through an Oracle client.
This library is a cross-platform solution for developing applications on different development environments including RAD Studio, Delphi, C++Builder on Windows and Mac OS X for both x86 and x64 platforms. FireMonkey platform is also supported. This particular development environment allows you to develop visually spectacular high-performance native applications for Windows and Mac OS X. This product is compatible with Oracle servers 12c, 11g, 10g, 9i, 8i, 8.0, and 7.3, including Oracle Express Edition 11g and 10g. There is a free dbMonitor tool available that lets you monitor and analyze all the database calls made by the applications being developed. This tool is able to trace SQL statement execution, commits, rollbacks, etc. generated by each component. This is a very good tool.
