AptEdit is a 32-bit, full-featured text, hexadecimal, drive, and web editor. It offers many powerful features to view and edit just about any text or binary file, and it`s an excellent source editor for Web page authors, developers, and programmers.

AptEdit is a 32-bit full-featured text, HEX, HTML, PHP, Java, Perl, Ruby, Scala, Python, Javascript, VBScript, SQL, and programmer`s editor for Windows Windows 2000 / XP / 2003 / Vista.

The editor has three main modes the text, hex and the HTML modes. Key features include Syntax Highlighting, Visual Files Comparison, Terminal Full-Screen edit Window, Customizable Color Scheme, Auto-Completion, HEX Viewer and Editor, Binary Template, Binary Edit, Hash Computer, View and edit the local drives, Convert codepage between EBCDIC and ASCII, Convert codepage between OEM and ANSI, HTML Editor and Browser, Full Unicode Support and a Spell Checker. Syntax highlighting helps with language specific edits, HEX viewer along with the binary template help with checking out code at the binary level. Hash computer helps make sure any file being viewed has no data corruption. Unicode support ensures all multi byte language text can be displayed and edited. HTML mode helps with web related work with HTML code, CSS editing and soon.

AptEdit Pro can be installed on FLASH or other portable drives. All user configurations are saved in the movable drive. You can carry AptEdit Pro with you wherever your travels or business take you and run it on almost any computer.

The user interface is built along the lines of the familiar Word interface so that learning curve is not steep at all.

Cons: Book-marking help tremendously in browsing through large files while editing. They would have been useful additions to the features of the editor.

Overall: Full of features this application is easy to use and easy to learn. A 4 star application without a doubt.
