If you're in some way connected with software development, you've probably come across the problem of creating online help. It's no easy task with Microsoft development tools, so why don't you try Visual CHM and see the difference? Other computer users may be interested in this application, too - if they want to create e-books, for example, or curious to find out how help files to their favorite programs were made.
While writing online help is left entirely to technical writers, assembling, compiling and designing the output file may be performed by someone else in the team, in fact, anybody. Visual CHM is a tool that lets you create online help in no time and much less pain comparing to Windows built-in tools.
The interface of the program is pretty straight-forward and easy to use: pick the menu buttons you like, open and add html pages to the project, choose icons, background, font and other settings and click 'Compile'. The program has a html source code editor, which makes it perfect not only for assembling the help file, but also experimenting with its design and creating stand-alone pages.
