Active Email Monitor is basically an e-mail client, but it isn't your everyday mail program. This application was specifically designed as a protective barrier against spam, junk mail and mail worms/trojans (like the infamous love letter). In competenent hands it can offer unprecedented protection from postal problems.
      Active Email Monitor can load on startup and monitor all your mailboxes for new mail, giving off sound alerts when it arrives. You can put up any number of filters, so junk mail is thrown away even before reaching your machine. The program also checks your mail for known worms using a special virus scanner. If a letter contains something potentially harmful, Active Email Monitor will tell you about it without downloading and opening it. The virus scanner database can be updated using a "liveupdate"-like feature.
