There's always been a nasty problem of finding a converter from raster to vector format. For example, you scanned a drawing but raster image format does not allow you to zoom it in without considerable loss in quality etc., and drawing the picture once again in a vector image editor is out of question. Raster-to-raster image converters exist in abundance; raster-to-vector are rare species of the image tools software category. RasterVect is one of those species.
RasterVect is a versatile application that lets you convert any raster image to a selection of vector formats, namely DXF, WMF, EMF, EPS and AI. These formats are supported by most CAD applications, such as Adobe Illustrator and AutoCAD. The program recognizes lines, circles, arcs and other geometric figures. RasterVect keeps scale of the initial drawing and has a filter that removes 'noise' from it. There is built-in TWAIN support, too.
The unregistered version, however, is crippled. Some features work on the screen only, and all you can save is but partly vectorized image. All in all, it is extremely helpful and easy to use. Try this tool today and see for yourself!
