The thing that some applications can be run automatically to open certain file types is good. The thing that there may be more than one program to run the same type of file but only one can be associated with it is not so good. Now you can patch up this logical discrepancy with OpenExpert.
OpenExpert is a small shell extension tool that lets you edit the list of applications that can run a file of particular type. The tool can be configured both from the right-click context menu and its own program group in the Start menu. Adding new programs to the HTML type list, for example, is simple: you only have to specify the path to the application and, if you wish, edit its name in the future sub-group entry in the context menu. Now you can choose whether to open an image file in an image viewer or a more advanced image editor, etc.
The tool is free, fast and, as it's a shell extension thingy, almost invisible (no icons in the tray etc.). Download it today and enjoy extended options of the used-to-be conservative feature.
