How informative does the status bar in the My Computer folder prove to be when you want to find out where all the disk space have gone? Not at all, it is fair to say. You learn how much free space is left and how much is occupied by files and folders, but to learn how much individual folders weigh you need to open their properties window and all… Use Free!Space to learn what's happening with your hard disk space.
Free!Space is a tool that lets you view how much space each folder and subfolder occupies in a cake-graph format. As many of diagnostic utilities do, it also provides you with general information on free hard disk space and operating memory resources. To browse a hard disk in order to get those ever-escaping a few gigabytes or so, select one of your logical (or real) disks from the pull-down menu and then you can scrutinize it to your heart's content.
The tool has a simple tabbed interface, is pretty easy to use and, by all means, is worth a try.
