Now what would you say if you came across the tool that would paint folders on your hard drive into any imaginable color? That would be both useful and fun for a number of reasons: useful because you could paint document folders in one color and, say, folders containing sound files in another color; fun because it's great to have a break from those boring pale yellow folders at last. Rainbow Folders is the tool we'll be reviewing today.
Rainbow Folders is a tool that lets you colorize your folders' icons. The tool runs just out of the box - no installation needed - and takes control of your folders right away. Its simple interface allows you to choose a folder in Windows Explorer-like list and then apply a color to it. Mind you, the program seems to be a bit raw and doesn't show the real color until you hit the "Confirm" button. Then you can colorize the folder and the icon's color will change right away.
What's important is that the tool doesn't fool around with the registry, leaving the new icon and its INI file directly in the colorized folder. It leaves you the option of un-colorizing any folder, so you risk nothing and gain a great tool for the price of $0. Download it today and see that for yourself.
