LAN administrators have a dreary job. Not only they have to ensure that everything on the local network is working properly, they are usually required to solve users' problems. One of the most frequently occurring problems is missing files due to power failure, virus attack or hardware failure. The solution is to back up files as often as possible. But which PCs on the network require action most? BackupWatcher is here to answer this question.
BackupWatcher is a powerful tool for watching computers over the network for files needing backing up. Some users may work on a single document all day, others can turn over half their files in a day - the tool will show you what percentage of files on each watched PC has been changed since last scan and needs backing up. The program has a system of filters so that it recognizes that changes in some folders and file types (say, system files) do not have to be monitored and reported. Speaking of reports, there is a tool for them too - print them out and go round workplaces sorting things out and ordering backups.
The program is freeware and requires a free registration (a simple form comes up on first run of the program). Download it today and check it out yourself.
