Always the ones to take those classic games we know and love and serve us up an audio/visual treat, Big Fish has taken yet another digital classic and spruced it up with top notch sound effects and animation. I was first exposed to this game type as Gems on Sega Genesis, except in BBD there are rotating, colored bubbles to burst and not colored jewels to break.

Bursting Bubbles Deluxe can be played in one of two modes. Frantic Mode challenges players to races the boiling thermometer (timer) by trying to burst as many bubbles at once as they can. If they can beat the thermometer and drop it back down to the bottom, they advance to a harder stage. If not, and the thermometer boils, it is game over. Puzzle Mode invites players to attempt to drop the thermometer down to progress as well, only there are more obstacle bubbles (see below) and no time limits imposed.

The two game modes throw obstacle bubbles at players that can either help or hinder them. The chameleon bubbles are infuriating! Like all Big Fish network enabled games, Bursting Bubbles Deluxe can connect to a special server and you can view the best scores of players around the web and see if you can top them.

I highly enjoy BBD. It is 100 times better than the version of ‘Jewel Master’ I play on my PDA and I really like ‘Jewel Master’. It is hard to stop playing most Big Fish games because they are so simple they hook you in about 30 seconds and you can’t put them down.
