In the tradition of Gary Larson, Laurie Frankel's animal cartoons bring out the humor in everyday life. Cats and dogs tell the story, yes, but pleeeeease don't call it pet humor--that conjures up notions of the sweet and gooey which this cartoon is not. For satisfying that edgy, slightly wacky sensibility there's nothing like it.
