     Do you keep your PC always on? If so, you might have found one thing inconvenient: different sounds throughout the night. For example, a mail notifier singing its bell when new messages are coming, or a download manager signaling that a certain file was downloaded. There's a seemingly easy way to deal with it - just turn off your speakers, but what if you use your PC as an alarm clock too? Use AutoMute then.
     AutoMute is a simple tool that lets you silence your computer during a given time interval. It suppresses all the sounds given out by any of your programs so that you can sleep soundly in the night or do not disturb somebody's afternoon nap. The tool has a tiny window where you can enter the time of the silence period to commence and to stop. Both times are given using the 24-hour clock.
     The tool leaves its icon in the system tray while running. It comes with no help file (who wants one, anyway?) and doesn't require the installation ordeal. Download it today and see that for yourself.
