MassDeployer distributes software and scripts to every Windows computers in your organization. In fact, MassDeployer enables distribution of any Software package type including EXE, MSI, MSP, MSU and other installers.

Also, it enables distribution of any kind of scripts including BAT, CMD, VBS, VBE, JS, JSE, WSF, WSH to Windows computers throughout an organization. Supports executing multiple scripts/ commands during installation and abort if not successful. The installable or the script package can be copied to the client computer before executing it also. On the complementary side clean-ups necessary after uninstallation in any specific computer can be carried out too.
MassDeployer deploys the Admin Commands (Software or Scripts) to the clients in your organization quickly and uses the existing Active Directory Infrastructure in the network. You need only one computer for the evaluation of MassDeployer on Windows 2000, XP, Vista or Windows Server 2003 or Server 2008. The computer should be within a Domain. MassDeployer consists of two components; MassDeployer Admin – Admin User Interface used to Add, Edit or Remove the commands (Script or Software) for the clients and the Client executes the commands given by the Admin.
On the user interaction panel one specifies the installation or uninstallation package. On the interface tabs the user selects the target tab. The target machine and user, as applicable are specified in terms of domain name, machine id etc. Scheduling tab lets you choose a lot of options such as run once, run until success, run regularly and so on. Additionally one could specify when to run such as run at start up, a specified date and time etc.
Cons: The documentation available does not say what protections/error handlings are available. Often the tendency on the user’s part is to deploy packages that may not have been completely tested. In such cases protection against crashes/error handling would be essential.
Overall: Simple to use the application helps with administering a network of resources quite well. This is good for at least a 3 star level.
