Pros: Use DataMirror to back up or restore your files to another drive. The drive can be a networked drive or even a removable media. You can specify how often back up is to be created on the mirror drive. One option which creates a true mirror and provides the most protection is immediately there is any change in the source file. Second option is to do it at a fixed periodic tine, such as every 30 minutes. This can be specified to be any interval in increments of 1 minute starting from 0 minutes. The third option is at a fixed time in the day. This is like the periodic back up one time a day. A nice feature is the mirror can be kept for a specified duration even after the source had been deleted. This ensures that even when a file is deleted by mistake a copy remains that can save the day.

The mirroring can be activated or deactivated at any time. Since several such tasks may be activated at any time the simple user interface provides the means to control these. They can be deactivated as a group or individually, same as they can be activated individually or as a group.

Cons: What would be really convenient, now that abundant disk space does not cost much id the ability to just specify a drive which needs to be mirrored. For the user to specify which data file or directory is to be protected could be cumbersome. Invisible protection, all the time protection would be really nice.
