That contributes to reduction of back up time. While backing up the software will check which files in the desired list have actually changed since the last back up and only those are updated. You can use it to keep your data and documents files synchronized on your desktop and the laptop. There are several options you can specify as the back up destination. These can be a Zip file, a FTP server, portable drive like a USB external drive, or completely removable media like CD/DVD.

You can mark any file for backup from the Explorer context menu. This allows you to decide which files should be backup up while you are opening, saving or copying them, without starting SmartBackup. It refreshes the back ups automatically once a day or once a week. You can specify a fixed time or the time when Windows is started up on the given day. Multiple backup jobs can be combined and executed in one sequence. After finishing the sequence various actions like "reboot" or "power off" can be performed.
