At times while working on our systems we may experience the need to copy bits of text or other data. While this is something quite routine and is typically quite wonderfully executed by the Windows clipboard, an increase in number of items being copied can create a hassle. Typically we tend to forget which piece of text was copied before and which now would get pasted. In such a scenario a clipboard viewer will surely come handy and the Free Clipboard Viewer 2.0 serves the same purpose.
The Free Clipboard Viewer 2.0 is designed for a very specific purpose of highlighting what remains on your clipboard and is quite useful when you are transferring bits of information between different documents or applications. On launch it shows a neat interface sporting a grey hue. It lists the list of the present formats on the left side while it adequately shows the size and the description of the contents. When you copy any content, the same get listed in the viewer application and is tagged as per its format. The tool can be used directly out from an USB device and also can be called into to free clipboard memory as per your need. For removing the contents one just needs to press the delete button and the same is done. The tool also allows you to save the clipboard data onto a file and thus the data can then be transferred to another system if needed.
The Free Clipboard Viewer 2.0 comes across as a utility with very basic set of features. While the tool does serve its explicitly designed purpose, it receives a poor score of just two rating points for its lack of advanced features and its limited appeal. As a standalone application it is unlikely to find many takers and is in serious need of a feature update.
