     Do you have a feeling that even with such good compressing software as WinZip and WinRAR there is still room for perfection? You are probably right. Open Source software once again proved its superiority over commercial software with the introduction of 7-Zip.
     7-Zip is a compression utility that lets you create, update, extract archive files of four most popular formats on the Internet: zip, gzip, tar and bzip2. Its simple, no-nonsense interface is integrated in the shell and can be accessed via the right-button menu. 7-Zip borrows much of its interface from the shell itself - an opened archive file looks as if it were a plain Explorer window. The only difference is the 'Extract' button. Owing mainly to that, the tool is incredibly fast even with huge archives with lots of subfolders and hundreds of files. The program also compresses files into smaller archives, some 40 or 50% smaller comparing to WinZip.
     Besides the standard GUI interface, all the functions of the program can be accessed through the command line. Download this free tool today and enjoy this fast and reliable compression tool.
