Good process but with a big bug: when you select only some files (standard case!), they do not appear in the modified list !!! If the next revision work good, I give 5 stars !

Powerful and bug-free - but users might want to be aware that it can lose characters in a filename that have accents when it is renaming.

the gui interface is pretty, but the application doesn`t work very well. tried to rename over 80 files in 1 folder...said it did it, but it didn`t.

I`m in Vista 64 bit, after renaming my directories I could no longer access, open, or delete (even via rd /s /q) the directory which contained everything I renamed. I have a directory that I cannot do anything with!!! AAhhhhhh

I simply tried to rename every occurrence of mpeg to mpg. It deleted every extension on every file, not even on mpeg files. Got error about duplicate file names when there were none. Ended up with 0k file. Where is that other GOOD free program called Batch Rename?

Just downloaded the BatchFileRenamer and it works like charm. I had a boat load of files under multiple layers of folders, which needed to be renamed to replace a common string that appears in the file names. This software worked super. I tried another software from SourceForge, but it was unnecessarily complicated. This software however integrates into the right-click menu and really simplifies the recursive renaming chore. Bravo, and thanks for creating the application.

Nice utility. Easy to install, may be a little tricky at first, but works great and you can see expected changes before they actually happen. Great!
