InstallFile is used to replace locked files (for example loaded dynamic link libraries) that cannot be overwritten under normal circumstances. The problem: the user cannot run his or her favorite application. One of the dlls suddenly has the wrong version number, probably as a result of the installation of another program. Typically one would reinstall your favorite application, perhaps loosing a lot of customized options. The solution: Get InstallFile to replace the wrong version file with the right version file. The utility exists in two versions: a command line utility and a windows dialog based utility. The software can be run on any computer running Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT and Windows 2000.
