It seems good till you get an error 9. Then the application will not decrypt your files or finnish loading. It just shuts down before it decrypts the vault folder. So now I have lost everything and non of my emails for help get answered. Too unstable.

I also had the same problem with the stealth mode not being able to show the program or files again. And if you search google`s cached copy of the software manufacturer`s site,(Gearboxcomputers), you will see that other people have had the same problem and their entries have been deleted from the message board.

Folder Vault once put into Stealth mode is unable to be retrieved. You lose any files you have put into it. The hot keys to retrieve it simply do not work. In spite of their advertising Gear Box Computers do not provide support. The Support Line does not respond to emails for help. They do not answer phone calls to their Support Desk.. Their Support Forum is a Sham. Several posts from purchasers outlining their Folder Vault problems were promptly removed. Only positive comments about their other software are displayed. I posted 3 times, each was removed within hours. No explanation, no attempt to even acknowledge a problem or that they are trying to fix it. I would not recommend dealing with Gear Box Computers because of their unethical business practices.

Once I looked at all the options it was pretty easy to use. I like the look and feel of the program. Works just like it claims.

The software locked folders ok, but the price is $14.95 (see the website), not $9.95. Also, when you use the "buy now" button inside the program, it brings up your browser and gets stuck; you have to ctrl-alt-del to close the browser...not good. The companies website is incomplete and poorly designed.

The design of the interface is very nice. It leaves the impression of security and safe keeping of the files. The main buttons are placed right in the middle of the lock looking interface. The four of them allow you access to the vault folder, enter the application into stealth mode, hide/lock folders and drives and changing of the password. If you are searching for a program that provides you with a safe spot for your files, give Folder Vault a try. The application is true to its name and will lock all your files into a safe location, away from prying eyes. Oh, yeah, also the price is very good ($9.99), bought mine a few days ago.
