Pros: The application is a packet sniffer and helps analyze network traffic. Network Sniffer helps monitoring network traffic in order to recognize and decode certain packets of interest. Network adapter is put into listening mode, capturing everything that travels through the Network and one can analyze the traffic to find if there’s any bottlenecks in the network or detect any illegal activity taking place for example due to a crack attack, spyware activity or any other malicious or abnormal traffic. The interface is simple and intuitive. Once the network adapter is chosen from the drop down list, it is merely the start and stop controls that need to be used. The logs are presented that include information about hosts detected, received frames, file ids, images received, credentials, cleartext and anomaly log data are captured and presented. The sniffer can detect OS`s, sessions, hostnames, open ports etc., can also parse PCAP files for off-line analysis. Cleartext is an interesting display option. It shows in English the commands and data being passed amount. This makes quite a bit of sense when looked at rather than binary bits in the packet data.

Cons: The volume of data can become quite overwhelming and detecting attack patterns or malware activity could become difficult. Some form of higher level detection would have been useful.

Overall: Nice program that’s easy to use. It rates a very good level of 3 stars easily.
