Notepad And 1/2 is a small Windows text editor, much like Notepad. What makes it special is that it adds many features sorely missing from Notepad, but without useless extras so as to keep the program as small and fast as possible. Perfect as a quick jotting pad, without the drawbacks of Windows Notepad.
While Notepad And 1/2 was initially designed as a simple text editor, it offers Rich Text Format support and basic text formatting options. Other handy features include: no file size limit, save window's size and position on exit, Find and Replace text, Favorite Files & Folders, Most Recently Used (MRU) file list, Always On Top option, Character/Word/Line Count, Convert Line Breaks to Wrap, Save Selection As, Append Selection To, Toolbar, Status Bar, and more. This program requires VB6 runtime files installed on the system.

Have you ever thought of replacing the default Windows Notepad editor with something more powerful and efficient? If so, have a look at the free Notepad And 1/2.
Notepad And 1/2 is a simple plain text editor which doesn't differ much from the original Notepad in terms of interface but supercedes it in features. Unlike the Windows Notepad, this editor doesn't have any restrictions on file size and supports rich text format (RTF). It has most needed tools for working with plain and formatted text. You could count words, lines and characters, find and replace text, invert case, capitalize words and turn them to lower case, work with font styles, sizes and colors in RTF.
The Light edition of the program that is just under 90K in size does not feature RTF support and is a perfect replacement for Windows Notepad. The Standard version is also free (Donation-ware) and can be downloaded from the developers' website.
