This is a tool that helps you monitor Windows log files.
Do not let the name fool you. There is nothing dangerous about the utility. In fact it could be quite useful. It lets you monitor the log files generated by the Windows Operating system. You do not need any administrative rights to do that either. Monitoring very large files is not a problem either. When you ask it to open a event file, the tool will present you with options of the various log files available in the system, such as the “hardware event log”. Open file will let you access the saved log files. The utility has the feature of working on a log and then saving it for later processing. This open file feature lets you access such files. Multiple window mode such as MDI, Tabbed, Floating, etc. are supported.
When you are trying to monitor a huge log file, it is usually to find specific events. Thus a useful search capability is a must in such utilities. This too has searching capabilities that lets you search for events using regular expressions too. Additionally the tool will let you switch on/off windows services by right clicks in the display window of the utility. You would be able to monitor the resource usage all the time with RAM, CPU usage and TRX/sec readouts on the toolbar. The tool itself takes very little resources in terms of CPU time or memory. Some customization of the interface that is very simple to use, can be done through changing background color, text color and the Windows icon. If your job requires you to analyses the log files often, then this is a handy tool for you.
