EDM comes in three flavours: The freeware, with a limit of about 100 visitors per day, the shareware that expires after 30 days and the fully registered version. All the three have the same functionality in the first release (except for the quota of 100 visitors/day). EDM is so fast that you can process ENTIRELY a log of 500,000 lines within a few seconds. Entirely here means, processing ALL the pages, referrers, visitors, not just the top 100 in each category. In addition to several predefined columns in each report, you can add up to 10 columns of your choice in most of EDM's reports. You define the target, the operand, the column header and within a few seconds the result is available as a percentage. Combined with a broad range of filters, this gives you a powerful tool to extract almost any information that you want. Unlike many other log analysers, Expert Data Miner supports databases: You can create monthly or yearly projects and process fresh new logs every day without creating a new project. In the cumulative mode, EDM will upgrade your previous results. Should you need to perform quick tests and isolate some scenarios with a combination of customized columns and filters, you can also use a non cumulative project. In most reports EDM allows you to decide if you wish to count spiders or just to focus on human visitors. Even if a spider does't identify himself as such, EDM will often classify it in a third category when the behaviour of this visitors looks too much like a script ( time between each request, the use of a referrers in some circunstances, the sequence of files, etc...)
