     PHP is a popular, one can even say fashionable, programming language for the web. It's free, easy to learn, platform-independent and very powerful. It's also very popular with software developers - a rare software developer can't do any web programming so what they do is create a text editor for editing web scripts such as Winsyntax.
     Winsyntax is a compact and light plain text editor with additional features for those who intend to use it in web development. The main feature is, of course, text highlighting. Others include a pretty built-in file manager, a multiwindow tabbed interface and more.
     All in all, the text editor is quite basic - better than Notepad anyway - and doesn't let one automate routine programming and web developing tasks. Yet, it's a free, light and useful plain text editor - download it now to see that for yourself.
